Great Coffee Should Be Simple.
About Daily Brew Fix
I’m Ethan Cole. I spent my twenties as a cafĂ© barista, making a lot of espresso, and more cups of coffee than I could ever count.
These days I brew in Airbnbs, hotel rooms, and short-term apartments. Wherever I’m staying long enough to unpack a grinder. The setups are smaller now, but the coffee is honestly better, because I stopped chasing gear and started paying attention to the basics.
Fifteen years has a way of simplifying things. Good coffee comes down to a few fundamentals done consistently, not the most expensive equipment or the trendiest method. Most people aren’t looking to become experts. They just want their coffee to taste better. That’s all this site is for.

Why Daily Brew Fix
Most people don’t struggle with coffee because they lack equipment. They struggle because the basics are confusing, inconsistent, or badly explained.
This site focuses on the things that actually move the needle:
- The right grind size for your brew method
- How water, ratios, and timing affect flavor
- Small adjustments instead of new gear
- Knowing when an upgrade helps, and when it doesn’t
The goal isn’t to turn you into a barista. It’s to help you enjoy your coffee more, every single day.
How I Approach Coffee
Consistency matters more than complexity. Small improvements compound. Good coffee should fit your routine, not disrupt it. Gear should earn its place on your counter.
You won’t find hype here. When I recommend something, it’s because it solves a specific problem, not because it’s popular. And I always explain who doesn’t need something. That context matters just as much.
Who This Site Is For
I wrote this for home brewers somewhere between beginner and intermediate.
Maybe you’re using pre-ground coffee and wondering why it tastes flat. Maybe you already grind fresh but feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice. Or maybe you just want small improvements without turning coffee into a technical hobby.
If you care about taste but also care about simplicity, you’re in the right place.
A Note on Recommendations
Some links on this site are affiliate links, primarily through Amazon. If you buy something through one of those links, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
That doesn’t change how I evaluate things. Every recommendation goes through the same practical filter: Does it make sense for most home brewers? Is it reliable long term? And who can honestly skip it?
Not every upgrade is worth it. Not every tool belongs in every kitchen. I’ll tell you both.
Good coffee doesn’t require perfection. It requires a little understanding, a little patience, and the willingness to adjust.
That’s what Daily Brew Fix is here for.
